Questions relating to medical law – something practitioners are increasingly having to contend with – are addressed by PD Dr. Roggo, who has broad expertise in this area. He has many years of clinical experience as a board-certified surgeon and intensive care physician and can also draw on specific legal knowledge. There is also ongoing involvement in training and further development initiatives at home and abroad – including research – in the fields of both medicine and law.
One of the core services offered includes the drafting of assessments (assessments based on reports, as well as decisive expert opinions) relating to complex issues such as:
- alleged violations of the duty of care, for example, during the performance of some clinical activity (e.g. "malpractice"/medical errors)
- As well as other issues associated with civil and penal law concerning physical integrity
This service involves maintaining a close and ongoing relationship with the team responsible for forensic medicine.
