The Department of Forensic Molecular Biology (R+T) covers a wide range of research topics in forensic genetics. For this purpose, we regularly collaborate with other academic institutions in Switzerland and abroad, as well as with the Bern Cantonal Police. Current ongoing projects include the following topics:
- eDNA for Forensics
- Innovative DNA sampling strategies
- Ethical and legal issues in forensic genetics
- DNA transfer and persistence
- Population genetics
